| The Snapper is a year-round species on the Reefs all along the southeast coast of Florida, however spring, summer and fall is recommended because it's more comfortable to be anchored up in calm seas.
The Snapper family consists of too many to list but a few of the most common would be: Yellowtail Snapper, Mutton Snapper, Lane Snapper, Mangrove Snapper and Vermillion Snapper. Most of these Snapper will only range from 2 to 5 pounds but most consider Snapper to be an excellent eating fish. The Mutton Snapper is my favorite, most are in the 5 to 10 pound range, but it's not uncommon to catch a Mutton in the 15 to 20 pound class.
