The Wahoo is a year-round species all along the southeast coast of Florida and is one of the fastest fish in the ocean, Springtime is Primetime !
Plan on getting out early for this one, the most productive way to catch a Wahoo is high speed trolling at sunrise in about 200 feet of water. The Wahoo will be most active for the first 2 hours of the mornin, after that most of the Wahoo will be caught in deeper water usually around debris found floating in the Gulfstream.
The Wahoo will range in size from 25 to 65 pounds, you'll know immediately when your hooked-up on a Wahoo because your line will be screamin off the reel, then you'll think you lost it because they'll charge right back at ya before taking off for one more blistering run.
The Wahoo is an excellent eating fish, especially Wahoo Steaks on a grill, also served as sushi at many sushi restaurants.
